She was born on October 4th, 1954, the second child of Jean (Evans) and Ewald William Bunge. Sheila’s life was defined by her passion for family, food, and love for the community.
Sheila graduated from McCallum High School in 1973 before pursuing her education at the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition in 1977. Her time at university fueled her career in Food Management, which began during her college years when she worked for The Kitchen Door. Shortly after, she ventured into catering, preparing the meals for her own wedding to Mark Nunley in a picturesque flower-filled garden in 1976.
Throughout her life, Sheila nurtured a loving family. She welcomed her first son, Nathan Andrew, in 1981, followed by his brother, Benjamin Evans, three years later. The family shared countless memories on Lake Travis and were avid supporters of Texas football. Sheila also enjoyed traveling with Mark to beach towns around the world, visiting destinations such as St. John, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and Key West.

Sheila is survived by her husband Mark Stephen Nunley, her sons Nathan and Benjamin, their partners, and her granddaughters. She is also remembered by her sister, Sandra Bunge Wilson, sister-in-law, Karen Elizabeth Nunley, and numerous extended family members and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on August 14th, 2025, at St. John’s United Methodist Church, a congregation she had been a devoted member of since 1967. Sheila also volunteered on the church’s Hospitality Committee. Prior to the memorial, a private family service and burial will take place.
