On Sunday, May 25, Zilker Brewing Co. will host its Summer Kickoff Party from noon to 5 p.m. at 1701 East 6th Street. The event promises a lively atmosphere with a selection of cold beers, frozen cocktails, and food from popular local food trucks, including Spicy Boys and Patty Place. Exciting drink specials include $2 Jello shots and $15 mini-pitchers of Woo Girl Punch, a flavorful pineapple fruit blonde beer mixed with tequila and lime.

In addition to food and drink, a pop-up market will feature a variety of local vendors such as Cousin Kenny’s, Third Round Vintage, Lucky Pup Vintage, and Playtime Vintage showcasing unique products. DJ Mr. Brown Sounds will be playing music to elevate the festive spirit throughout the day.

Omni Downtown’s Summer Saturdays

Starting on Saturday, May 24, the Omni Downtown will launch its Summer Saturdays event from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 700 San Jacinto. This initiative allows guests to enjoy a selection of refreshing craft cocktails, including the Smoldering Mango and Gilded Lassi. Alongside these drinks, summertime favorites like margaritas and piña coladas will be available.

The menu for Summer Saturdays includes options such as burgers, kabobs, and brats, as well as upscale dishes featuring mango and habanero sea bass ceviche and a Fra’ Mani ham and cheese sandwich. Access to this event requires a $25 day pass available through ResortPass, with additional fees for reserving daybeds and cabanas.

Canje’s Annual Block Party

On Monday, May 26, Canje will host its third annual block party from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 1914 East 6th Street, Suite C. Celebrated chefs Ashleigh Shanti, Ian Corral, and Grace Aguilar will prepare signature dishes for attendees. The event will also feature music from DJ Jamie Dred and the All the Vibes crew, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for all.

Entry to the block party is free, with food and drink tickets priced at $12 each, or attendees can purchase five tickets in advance for $65, allowing for a variety of dining experiences throughout the event.

Upcoming Cinco de Mayo Celebrations

Austin is also gearing up for an exciting Cinco de Mayo celebration, with various events and special offerings starting on May 4 and continuing through May 5. Arriba Abajo Rooftop Cantina at the Thompson Austin will kick off the festivities with a fiesta featuring live mariachi music, DJs, food, and drink specials on May 4.

Additionally, several locations will participate in a Cinco de Mayo Crawl from May 2-5, offering prizes for participants. Dainty Dillo will also host a Cinco de Mayo event with margaritas, DJ performances, and a mariachi band, while Electric Shuffle will provide $5 shuffleboard, chips and guacamole, and margaritas on May 5.

Hotel Viata will celebrate with a poolside gathering featuring an open-fire grill and a make-your-own taco plate for $35 per person. La Piscina will offer a Margarita Flight for $26 to capture the spirit of the holiday. Various local restaurants, such as League, Manuel’s, and Mi Madre’s, will have special discounts and celebratory menus to add to the festive atmosphere.

Additional Events

Other notable events include a four-course dinner collaboration at Suerte with Frenchette on May 5, priced at $100 per person. There will also be free celebrations at Lakeway Activity Center and a fundraiser lunch at the Thompson Hotel to support the Mexic-Arte Museum.
